Barbara Pritchard originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, USA has a degree in Fashion Design and in true American spirit knows a good idea when she sees it. Barbara has been busy marketing 'Dance at 8' from it's onset and in that short time has managed to expand the business from one night per week to six nights across seven venues around Worcestershire and Gloucestershire. Barbara also does the marketing for all of the large dances and dance events the company holds throughout the year. Barbara said "For our Dance Events we are receiving calls from as far afield as Glasgow to the Isle of Man, as we strive to give people what they want, namely exercise, fun and social entertainment." Barbara has also cruised the World extensively as the Ships Hostess and this is where this successful partnership was formed.
Paul Pritchard, owner of 'Dance at 8' Worcestershire/ Gloucestershire started dancing
in his native Lancashire at the tender age of "8". He took to dancing naturally
and rose through the ranks quickly. A Ballroom Champion since his early teens, Paul
achieved Championship level in Ballroom, Latin American and
Exhibition styles as a Junior, Amateur and Professional achieving a ranking in the World's top ten in Ballroom and 2nd and 3rd in consecutive years in the British Invitation (Open to the World) Exhibition Championships and has appeared in many other Major Championship finals. He also represented England throughout Europe. Paul qualified as a teacher with the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing), the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) - the National Association and coached at championship level. He has performing throughout the World in cabaret, specialising in the Ballroom and Latin American branches. He then moved on to a life at sea as Cruise Director and Entertainer aboard the World's most luxurious Cruise Liners of Cunard, Holland America Line & Ocean Cruise Lines. Paul has been billed in cabaret alongside such big names as Tony Bennett, Anthony Newley and Neil Sedaka to name but a few. After twelve years of travel and entertaining (which included Six World cruises), Paul now enjoys teaching others to dance. Using his vast experience in the Dance World and his humorous, clear and concise instruction he has turned 'Dance at 8' into a very exciting place where people can share in the Fun and enjoyment of being able to dance properly. Paul runs ‘Dance at 8’ with his wife Barbara and a very experienced team of ‘Eight’ instructors.
